Donation Refund & Cancellation Policy

This policy applies to donations made to Education Cosmos through the donation campaigns hosted on this website. Because a donation is a voluntary contribution and not a purchase of goods or services, refunds are handled differently from a regular e-commerce transaction, as described below.

1. General Policy

• Donations made to Education Cosmos are voluntary contributions and are, as a general rule, non-refundable once processed.
• Funds are typically allocated to the relevant campaign soon after a successful donation, so please double-check the amount and campaign before confirming your payment.

2. When a Refund May Be Considered

We will review a refund request if any of the following apply:

• You were charged more than once for the same donation (a duplicate transaction).
• An incorrect amount was charged due to a technical error on our payment gateway.
• The donation was made in error and a request is raised within 7 days of the transaction.

3. How to Request a Refund

• Email wecare@educationcosmos.org with your donation receipt number, the campaign name, and the reason for the request.
• Your receipt number is shown on the donation confirmation page and in the receipt available at EC-DON-<number>.
• We will acknowledge your request within 3 business days and let you know the outcome after review.

4. Processing of Approved Refunds

• Approved refunds are issued to the original payment method used for the donation, via our payment partner Razorpay.
• Refunds typically reflect in your account within 5-10 business days, depending on your bank or card issuer.
• If a tax-exemption receipt was already issued for the donation, it will be cancelled once the refund is processed.

5. Cancelling a Donation

Because donations are processed immediately on confirmation, they cannot be cancelled after payment is completed. If you did not intend to complete the payment, please follow the refund request process above within 7 days.
